Discussion Board – Post Deletion Policy

To keep our community safe, respectful, and functional, we give members limited control over deleting their own posts while protecting conversation history and thread integrity.

You may delete your own posts under these rules:

  1. Within the first 2 hours after posting
    • If your post has no replies, it will be fully removed (including any attached image in the original thread post).
    • If your post has replies, the post itself will remain, but any uploaded image in the original thread post will still be permanently deleted from our servers. This gives you a quick window to remove sensitive or personal images even if someone replies quickly.
  2. Within the first 48 hours after posting (including the 2-hour window above)
    • If full deletion is not allowed (because replies exist or the 2-hour window has passed), the post content will be replaced with:
*** Deleted by author on [date and time] ***
    • The post structure remains so replies stay attached and the conversation thread is not broken.
  3. After 48 hours
    • Self-deletion is no longer available. The post becomes a permanent part of the discussion.
Important notes:
  • You can only delete or modify your own posts.
  • The original thread post follows the same rules, with the added behaviour that a full deletion within 2 hours (and no replies) removes the entire thread and its image.
  • Deleting a post does not delete replies made to it — they will remain visible and attached to the "*** Deleted ***" placeholder.
  • Moderators may remove or restore content at their discretion if it violates site rules.

We designed these rules to balance privacy (especially for accidental personal info or images) with community continuity. Thank you for helping keep our discussions healthy and trustworthy!
